2009 February Edgewood Brush Oak Reserve

Troop 309 was gracious enough to invite our troop to come with them on a day hike at the Edgewood Brush Oak preserve. The was part of a psychiatric center just south of pilgrim state mental hospital. The hike was a total of abotu 4 miles through the oaks. We saw several areas of burned forest. The day was cold but nice for hiking. It actually got colder and windier as the day progressed. The hike took about 2 hours at which time we stooped for a quick lunch at the parking lot and proceeded to rehearse Emergency Preparedness by performing a mock search for a lost youth.  Our thanks to Mike Warmouth and Troop 309.
